The Kraus Orchestral Music Library
The Kraus Orchestral Music Library is a collection of music that came from Orchestras Canada and the CBC Toronto Library. Many of the pieces in this combined collection were used by the CBC Radio Orchestras (Toronto and Vancouver primarily) when live and recorded broadcasts were presented across the nationwide network. Individual markings, made by producers and conductors, document how the works were recorded by the live orchestras in studio. Of the collection, many are out-of-print, 'one of a kind' publications, that may have been performed or recorded once or twice. Some are 'theatre orchestra' arrangements, but most are full orchestra, original editions.
Things you need to know.....
All rental requests will be honoured so long as the music is available (some titles were not returned following rentals that occurred before we took over the collection). Some are fragile and too delicate for delivery. If that is the case, we are willing to generate digital copies so that the original sheet music is not over handled. That information will be shared at the time of your request.

Virtually any orchestra with a permanent brick and mortar address is welcome to inquire about accessing the collection. This collection needs to be used and the music needs to be available to orchestras so that they can continue the legacy of the creators. We will do our best to accommodate all inquiries.
